Here we are in beautiful Little Rock (well....here we are.......).
I really don't have very many good pics except for the ones I posted (I'm especially mad the ones of the Batman building in Nashville didn't turn out during our drive by.). Yes, that is a full car carrier of 2015 Corvette C7s we encountered west of Memphis Tomorrow we pick up RTE 66 in Tulsa and start our adventure! Stay tuned!

We left Little Rock and headed west! We stopped at a very cool 45th Infantry Division Museum, which displays and celebrates this historic unit. An amazing experience - the 45th is the Division that entered and freed Dachau. Not to mention their Korean, Vietnam and Gulf War performance. After several hours there, we continued on our way. We came across one other Vette on today's run - a CRM C7 with Louisiana plates. Some small stops along the way but we're ending up spending the night in Weatherford, OK (near Clinton if that helps) and ate at the famous Lucilles Diner and Steakhouse. By the way, it's 100+ here and as the song says, the wind really DOES come sweepin' down the plain (I guestimate it at 35 to 45 at times)!

Dayo...Dayaaay o...Day12 come an' me wanna keep goin'
Left this morning from Santa Rosa, NM and headed to the reason for the town's existence - artesian wells. The largest and deepest is called Blue Hole. It is full of crystal clear water - so clear it looks blue. And it is a series of caves going down to 221 feet. Folks even scuba dive it.
From there we headed to Albuquerque, where we traveled the length of the old RTE 66 and stopped for lunch at the fully restored Route 66 Diner. From there, we headed to AZ, where we're stopped for the night in Holbrook. Gettin' closer!

We left Holbrook, AZ (after cruizing through the iconic Wigwam Hotel along Route 66) and backtracked 30 miles to drive through the Painted Desert/Petrified Forest National Park. After that we headed to Winslow, Arizona to stand on a corner (it's such a fine sight to see). After trying to get some lunch at a local dive (and waiting for 45 minutes to be served after ordered), we decided to leave and find food elsewhere. We ended up finding a Jimmy John's (one of our most favorite sub shops in the world!) in Flagstaff. After a very nice tuna sub (also our favorite) we headed for parts West. And here we are - posting from our very own Great Western hotel room in the Cultural Hub of the Western World - Needles, CA! Did I mention it's 110 degrees here?

Pretty much a nothing happened day other than our 2 hour layover in Bakersfield to get the car's oil changed (Great dealer - Three Way Chevrolet. Free oil change and wash!) I wasn't planning on changing the oil until we got home but as hot as the weather has been, I decided it wouldn't hurt to do it sooner than later. Oh yea, it was 92 when we left Needles this morning (8 am!) and pretty much high 90s to low 100's all day. Anyway, all's good and we're spending the last night in Coalinga
