We left Holbrook, AZ (after cruizing through the iconic Wigwam Hotel along Route 66) and backtracked 30 miles to drive through the Painted Desert/Petrified Forest National Park. After that we headed to Winslow, Arizona to stand on a corner (it's such a fine sight to see). After trying to get some lunch at a local dive (and waiting for 45 minutes to be served after ordered), we decided to leave and find food elsewhere. We ended up finding a Jimmy John's (one of our most favorite sub shops in the world!) in Flagstaff. After a very nice tuna sub (also our favorite) we headed for parts West. And here we are - posting from our very own Great Western hotel room in the Cultural Hub of the Western World - Needles, CA! Did I mention it's 110 degrees here?
